few days after the elections will mark the first May, Labor Day, this year I will focus on many (Also from our club) to the tragedy of accidents in the workplace. According Inail (National Institute of accidents at work) in 2006, 1,340 people in our country have not returned to their homes after a day of work and over 900,000 were injured while without losing skin. This means that every day of that year, nearly four people were killed while they perform their duty and more than 2,500 were injured. In 2007 figures, albeit slightly declining, were similar (1,260 dead and 913,500 wounded).
A budget that's what we can not possibly do well to understand the dimensions. To give an idea just think that U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq in five years of war were about 4,000, with an average of 800 deaths per year. This means that every year in Italian shipyards are fighting a war more bloody than that which is unfortunately the country was battered by Saddam Hussein.
But we are beginning to realize this stage only after the death of seven workers of ThyssenKrupp Turin. Since then, fortunately, every incident that happens occupies the front pages of newspapers and television news.
Four episodes occurred in these days I think it would help to understand what this war and those who fight.
The 7 Deaths of Turin and 5 of Molfetta (including a boy of just 20 years old) are the symbol of which is heart-rending human solidarity that characterizes our country and the world of work: in both cases, workers have died to rescue their comrades in trouble, not hesitating to throw in one case literally in the flames of a tanker exploded and another to descend into a tanker overrun by lethal gas.
seems to tell a story of war heroes or beautiful medieval knights and instead is the reality: I think that we should never forget to celebrate these victims, not just rhetoric but with the laying of a wreath in memory or with the delivery a medal in the family. A civilized country should feel the moral duty of ensuring that the children of these people, sacrificatisi for others, the prospect of better life, without adding to the tragedy that have also experienced the nightmare of not being able to finish school or do not find a job. In the land of thousands of fake invalids and I recommended that we should not have difficulty doing this.
Other scenarios and other reflections evoke the dead worker in the shipyards of Genoa and the history of the stunts involved filming a drama about their work-related accidents. Fabrizio Cannonero, the thirty-nine died in Genoa had begun to make camallo (named after the port in Genoa) succeeded his father Mario who also died while doing his duty. This war, just as every war is depriving our country not only to fathers and workers, but entire generations who will no longer contribute the growth of their country. The stuntman who died while simulating an accident at his work evokes the stories told by fervent bloody and perverse horror film directors, in which anyone who approaches the topic banned tragically affected. This unfortunately is not the fiction that the stuntman wanted to tell, but the reality of our country, committed as it is to vote on a yearly, does not have time to deal with the tragedies that hit him. We hope that this is the right time and that whoever wins will find a way to end this war before the next crisis of governance.
