Show hidden files and folders
If you have a computer with Windows XP and for some strange reason you can not view hidden files and folders, even though you enable the appropriate flag in the options folder,
try to check the registry (you must be a manager, look at strange things do not change) check and setting the following two registry keys.
To access the registry click on Start / Run and type "regedit" and then to enter, and navigate into the registry by going to the location indicated below
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \\ SOFTWARE \\ Microsoft \\ Windows \\ CurrentVersion \\ Explorer \\ Advanced \\ Folder \\ Hidden \\ SHOWALL
in the right pane is a key called "CheckedValue" and type "REG_DWORD". The value of this key must be "1". To view / change this value, double-click on the key.
Then also go to the registry path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER \\ Software \\ Microsoft \\ Windows \\ CurrentVersion \\ Explorer \\ Advanced
the key named "Hidden" is set to the value "1".
Exit regedit and restart your computer.
The problem should now be resolved, provided that there are viruses around the system that interfere with your commands.
by doing that I summarized in this post I solved the problem on a computer with Windows XP.
